17 Apr Getting it Right This Time

While mistakes can put egg on the City's face, not fixing something that is not right is much worse than a little embarrassment. And that's the story with fixing the currently under construction Board Walk along the South side of Boundary Street. This fix is a lot easier to fix than the new McTeer Bridge which blocks a beautiful  view toward Port Royal, Parris Island and St Helena Sound. 11 Apr “The Rise of the Urban Jungle”

A faithful reader send the attached which is food for thought. "When I look at our beautiful Lowcountry slowly becoming a concrete jungle and read the attached article, perhaps we should look at preserving our green canopy for future survival rather than increasing our tax base by allowing more of our green canopy to be removed in misnamed progress--taxes won't feed us or protect us from climate change. Wouldn't it be nice to have Beaufort recognized for urban forests rather than treeless commercial and residential eyesore. Charles Fraser had the right idea--smart...

11 Apr Beaufort Academy Makes Wise Decision

I was delighted to learn that Beaufort Academy successfully recruited my friend former Beaufort High School Principal (done wrong by the system for trying to do right by his students) to lead them into the future.  Dan is a go-getter, hard worker, loves his students and their families and builds a solid team around him.  If Dan achieves his goals you will see a number of talented young leaders graduating from BA.  I personally believe you will see a lot more than that. Which popular former Beaufort High principal has a new...
