10 Oct Jim Rex thinks we can get the train back on track and I agree
I first met Dr. Jim Rex when he was head of Development for the University of SC. After he retired I, along with many others, encouraged him to run for Superintendent of Education. I believe he did a more than credible job directing that huge institution while keeping it accountable to the teachers, administrators, students, families and the people of SC. My support for his run for governor was luke warm because I thought he had more work to do at the State Department of Education. But the political bug got to him and he believed he could do more for SC as Governor than as Superintendent. As fate would have it he ran and lost both jobs.
His composition for the State House Report is worth reading to get people to sit down and think how we CAN get the train back on the track.
