National Endowment for the Humanities Serves Beaufort Significantly

25 Apr National Endowment for the Humanities Serves Beaufort Significantly

As the Mayor of a special hometown that celebrates a rich culture and history and as a member of the Board of Directors of SC Humanities, I wanted to share the following:

It is a very enlightening  op-ed piece supporting SC Humanities and the NEH appeared in The Charleston Post and Courier on April 16. It was written by a professor at Clemson University.

In case you do not know it, in recent years, various of organizations in the City of Beaufort (specifically USCB and  he Beaufort County Library) have been awarded almost $500,000 in NEH grants to support Reconstruction Era education.  And we have other applications pending to ensure a richer cultural experience for those who live and visit our special community.
