Unified Interfaith Coalition Presents Important Gatherings

20 Jun Unified Interfaith Coalition Presents Important Gatherings

A night to remember a tragedy that brought and should keep us together.

Over the weekend, the United Interfaith Coalition of Beaufort (all religious groups) hosted two events, the first on Friday night at the new Grace Chapel AME Church on Ladys Island and the second at St John’s Lutheran Church also on Ladys Island.

Friday night was filled with song, prayer and reflection about the tragedy of the Emanuel 9 including the our own Senator Clem Pinckney.  One of the many highlights of the evening were the Bell Ringers from the Baptist Church of Beaufort.

Saturday we gathered at St Johns to hear speakers followed by break out groups of adults and children, been heres, come heres and more recent come heres to talk about what makes our community great.  Additionally, we spoke about what we need do to establish better understanding among the many diverse elements of our community so we collaborate, celebrate the oneness of community though human interaction and collaboration into the future.

These events do not stand on their own and they are not one time happenings. They need to grow, to engage larger groups of participants along the way and sustain the effort to better mankind and our community.   Stay tuned for more events and please take the time to join us.
