Adult “Launchpads” Now Available at the Bluffton Branch Library
Earlier this year, the Beaufort Branch Library introduced a new collection of Launchpad Educational Learning Tablets for young library customers as part of a pilot project funded by the Public Library Foundation of Beaufort County. The innovative collection has been a popular feature amongst parents and young borrowers.
The Library System is pleased to announce that new Adult Launchpads are now available at the Bluffton Branch. The Adult Launchpads come pre-loaded with interactive content that allows borrowers to explore, learn, and play, and are easy to use regardless of age or technical ability. Some apps are designed to challenge users’ memory, problem-solving skills, and attention span. The tablets also feature apps for stress relief and knowledge-building, and just-for-fun games.
“We are very happy to be able to expand our Launchpad Learning Tablets to adults. This ‘pilot’ project is another way to test innovative delivery of library services to the public. We appreciate the support of the Public Library Foundation for this project,” said Library Director Ray McBride.
The tablets are available for checkout at the Bluffton Branch Library. A library card is required to check out the device.

The Public Library Foundation’s mission is to provide funding for facilities, equipment and projects for the Beaufort County Library which are not anticipated to be available from state or local funding.
