Beaufort Branch Library Environmental Literacy Grant Kicks In to High Gear

 

In 2015, Friends of the Beaufort Library was awarded a $7,500 grant from Women in Philanthropy, a fund of Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. The grant successfully increased the understanding of the importance of protecting the Lowcountry environment among the citizens of Beaufort County through fun and educational programs offered at the Beaufort Branch Library.

 

The Library is pleased to announce that its cardholders can now borrow from the Beaufort Branch Library environmental equipment, books, and other supplies funded by the grant:

 

  • 10 Statewide Park Passport Plus that provide admission to all parks for 12 months and comes with value-added incentives like free admission to other events
  • 6 Digital Cameras
  • 6 Camera books
  • 5 Microscopes with slides
  • Binoculars (1 loupe in each bag)
  • Insect nets for children and adults
  • Environmental Field Guides for children and adults
  • Wildlife Habitat Game
  • DVDs for children and adults
