Become a Friend of CFA, right away!

09 Jul Become a Friend of CFA, right away!

As we close a fantastic year, we are very excited about the upcoming season. You can expect even more events and some excitingly different shows in the 2016-2017 year as well as those productions you know and love.
If you are already a Friend of CFA, we thank you tremendously for your financial support and encouragement. Without our friends, we could not provide Beaufort County with the vast array of arts, shows, and entertainment that we do. Last year we received over $36,500.00 through our Friends campaign! Our goal for 2016-2017 is to top $40,000.00,
and we need your support.
Our appreciation goes out to those of you who have already made your donation to the friends of CFA campaign. If you have not made your donations, or if you would like to become a friend of CFA, we urge you to go to our website and donate right away. While this is a seemingly quiet time at the Center, this is when all the magic happens! We are busy booking, budgeting and planning and desperately NEED your help to make the next season even bigger and better than seasons past.
We’ve included a “sneak peek” of the upcoming season. Tickets will be on sale and the schedule will be on our website July 1. Please visit our website and make your contribution today www.USCBCenterForTheArts.com

Sneak Peek into CFA 2016-2017 season…

September 30, 2016 -  Improv comedy theater Second City is coming to USCB Center for the Arts with “The Second City Hits Home,” a new show featuring hilarious sketches, songs and improvisation about Beaufort as well as material from the famed Second City archives. This is a must-see night of comedy featuring some of Chicago’s brightest comedy stars.
Doing what they do best, The Second City finds laughs in everything from Beaufort’s history, events and hot button issues to headlines from local newspaper and mixes these with a generous portion of classic Chicago-style sketch and improv created by some of Second City’s most lauded alumni, including Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more. The Second City celebrates 55 years of cutting edge satirical revues and continues to deliver the leading voices in comedy while touring the globe

April 13, 2022 - Barrage 8 is the latest project from John Crozman, Dean Marshall and Tony Moore, the original creators of the hit show Barrage. Utilzing the same energy, panache and innovative stage performance that Barrage was known for, Barrage 8 features all the instruments in the modern string family. The “8” in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: 5 violins, viola, cello and double bass. This instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sonic palette that further explores the musical diversity in the Barrage 8 compositions and arrangements. Barrage 8 presents what the Barrage name has come to represent worldwide:
“a memorable presentation of music, from many genres and cascading generations, delivered in a way not seen or heard before.”

November 18-20 -   Elf The Musical JR. is based on the 2003 New Line Cinema hit and features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar (The Wedding Singer) and Chad Beguelin (Disney’s Aladdin On Broadway, The Wedding Singer), a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

The musical tells the story of a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is given the name Buddy and raised by elves in the North Pole. Buddy lives happily unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of the holidays!
This production is filled with laughter, music and a wonderful holiday message.. Beaufort Children’s Theatre is comprised of over 75 local kids ranging in age from 7-18.
