You’ve seen them from the outside, those fantastic 200-year-old homes and fabulous newer houses that give Beaufort its charm.

 

Now’s your chance get an up-close look at these architectural gems at the Fall Festival of Houses and Gardens.

 

Friday’s walking tour leads visitors to private homes in the city’s National Historic Landmark District, representing a variety of architectural styles. Saturday’s tour features seven properties, five at downtown’s the Point. Take a drive to the White Hall Plantation on the Combahee River and tour the beautiful gardens and grounds.

 

Sunday is all about kitchens and great food where local chefs will create regional specialties in five private kitchens. Your own transportation is required on Saturday and Sunday.

WHEN: 1-4 p.m., 2-5 p.m., 3-6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. or 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday; 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. filled)

Sunday.
