Hurricane Harvey victims need our help and we are set to do all we can

05 Sep Hurricane Harvey victims need our help and we are set to do all we can

As we look at the news about the path of Irma, our hearts go out to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. We are still not sure of the needs and the timing of shipments many throughout  the county are reaching out to help.

While the City of Beaufort is prepared to do all we can to help, we realize that it is still early to send goods to Texas and remain uncertain where our donated dollars would be most effectively sent.  According, we established a committee, Chaired by Mayor Pro Tem Mike McFee, who is not only a member of City Council but a long time veteran of the American Red Cross. And former Mayor David Taub, a native Texan, agreed to help Mike Coordinate.

In partnership with the Coastal Community Foundation, we created a website through which those willing and able can donate dollars.  And once we get the word that goods will be reserved we Weill establish a drop off point.

The web address of the fund is https://cf-lowcountry.org/GivingThroughtheFoundation/DonateOnline.aspx?fn=BEAUFORT-SC+Coastal+Relief+Fund#donate

Note that others, including the Red Cross, Love House Ministries and volunteers are also at work so I suggest you support them as well.
