With every municipality in SC (and most in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia, along with a growing number of state legislators and members of Congress), it appears that Big Oil is feeling the heat. The Interior Department’s Bureau of Offshore Energy Management is feeling intense pressure from citizens and local government to not permit seismic testing and off shore drilling for oil and gas. By mailing the following to many residents along the Mid Atlantic coast, the American Petroleum Institute (the lobbying arm of big oil) is clearly concerned. Our challenge is to step up the pressure and not be fooled by industry propaganda.
