The first draft of the report of the Ladys Island Traffic Study will be presented at a public meeting on Thursday February 16th, 6-7:30 at Ladys Island Middle School.

The Study is sponsored by the City of Beaufort with the support of Beaufort County Council.
I personally believe that changes should not be made until after the County and City, in concert with the Ladys Island Committee, the Sea Island Coalition and the Coastal Conservation have revised the future plan for Ladys Island.
As I travel to Ladys Island and look around I can only think about how the millions spent of Sams Point Road improvements and the +/-$37 million invested in the second McTeer Bridge have in fact not reduced, but rather increased traffic not only on Ladys Island but in the Town of Port Royal.
Just something to keep in mind when considering investing huge amounts of money, potentially changing the character of neighborhoods and pouring more asphalt.
