In support of downtown merchants, City Council voted to provide two hour free parking during the holiday. The tags on the meters pretty much explain the rules: Use the free time, shop and dine downtown. But please abide by the rules and let the system work so that parking turnover can make it possible for even more people to enjoy downtown. If you are looking for more than two hours of downtown parking, go north of Port Republic and or use the lots where the time limits are longer.
