FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE     Contact:   Jaime Dailey-Vergara Director of Marketing & Communications United Way of the Lowcountry, Inc.  Serving Beaufort and Jasper Counties (O) 843.982.3040  | (C) 843.473.9829 Jdaileyvergara@uwlowcountry.org October 18, 2021 United Way of the Lowcountry partners with Beaufort County to provide assistance and collect funds for disaster relief efforts as a result of Hurricane Matthew  BEAUFORT, SC - United Way of the Lowcountry is mobilizing resources and providing assistance to help people rebuild their lives and this community by collecting donations for disaster relief efforts and responding to needs through the United Way Helpline.   United Way of the Lowcountry (UWLC) is the agency designated by Beaufort County to collect donations for disaster relief efforts.  Through our partnership with Beaufort County, UWLC will be collecting, administering and distributing funds for relief efforts.   All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the money collected will stay LOCAL!  Donations can be made on the United Way of the Lowcountry website -www.uwlowcountry.org  or on Beaufort County’s website - www.bcgov.net.   Donations may also be mailed to United Way of the Lowcountry at P.O. Box 202 Beaufort, SC 29901.  Make checks payable to United Way of the Lowcounty with “County Flood Relief” in the memo.   Through this partnership, UWLC is working with Beaufort County’s Alliance for Health and Human Services to address the needs of people in our community.   Through the United Way of the Lowcountry’s HELPLINE, we will also be assisting residents and providing referrals to those with unmet needs as a result of Hurricane Matthew including food, clothing, shelter and other needs.  Those looking for assistance should call United Way of the Lowcounty’s HELPLINE at 843-524-HELP(4357).        About United Way of the Lowcountry   Mission - United Way of the Lowcountry’s mission is to mobilize resources to solve human problems.
