29 Aug Vote for “Big D” today, tomorrow and the next day and more
When in the Legislature, on City Council and Mayor, I have attended the Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Department’s annual holiday event and awards ceremony. I cannot remember a time when Derrick Washington was not recognized as the Volunteer of the Year.
Today, Derrick is a runner up in a national context competing with volunteers from large cities where thousands of people will go on line.
Liken this situation to Candice Glover, vote often and encourage others to do the same. Let’s show our city’s long standing volunteer of the year how we appreciate him for his dedicated to public safety and the literally tens of thousands of hours this man has given back to our community.
