Girl Scouts Take A Break after Bridgework for Breast Cancer Awareness

Girl Scout Rainbow Troop 4105 sponsored their 1st Breast Cancer Walk. Girl Scout Founder Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, among many, died of breast cancer.

The walk started at 10:00 am from Woods Memorial Bridge, Beaufort, SC to White Hall Drive, on Lady’s Island. Ruth Reynolds, 92 years old, led the walk over the bridge.

The Troop returned back across the Bridge and was honored with lunch at the Waterfront Park, hosted by leaders, parents, adult volunteers. Mayor Billy Keyserling gave the girls a motivational speech and posed for group picture.

The girls meet every Saturday 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at Lady’s Island/St. Helena Island Fire Station #24 Community Room at 100 Polowana Rd (Dataw) St. Helena Island, SC. St Helena Branch library is their alternate location. Penn Center will be hosting a 2nd Troop soon at the Hampton House.

Thanks to Family and Friends that attended.

Among other treats and good buys Carteret Street Methodist Bazaar always brings pumpkins. More are coming this week so it is not too late to get one of the best.

First, and hopefully annual,  Food Truck Fair.  Thank you Jaycees!
