The name Henry Chambers frequently rolls off of our tongues but many who now live in Beaufort do not know the man who had the vision, creativity and stamina to bring Beaufort into the 21st Century and among other huge accomplishments give us our Waterfront Park that was fortunately named for him.
Tonight during the Water Festival’s Hometown Tuesday, Chambers will be recognized for his leadership and contributions for making Beaufort what it is.
Also, while one could write a book about our former Mayor, David Lauderdale did a pretty good sketch in Monday’s Packet/Gazette. Thank you David.
