29 Feb Young Leaders head to Court
This month the Young Leaders of Beaufort, a civic engagement group of 7th and 8th graders, met at the Court House to learn about law. Judge Tupper educated the students on the trial process. To put the lesson into practice, students participated in a mock trial. The group was divided into groups to represent the defendant, prosecutor, jury and witnesses. Everyone was sworn in. Witnesses were interviewed and cross examined. What was the verdict? An engaging day with a unique mock trial experience!
